My sister turned 30!! I loved celebrating with her and making her birthday cake! My sister Sami is creative, loving, fun, inspiring, funny, caring and weird. I love her!! It made perfect sense that she would want a Dallas Clayton party. She is a little obsessed with him and for good reason. I loved taking some of her favorite quotes of his to create this cake. Happy Birthday SAMI, the best gift is you!

Jocelyn is TWELVE!! We celebrated this amazing girl with a pool floaty bird-day theme. It was a hit!
Jocelyn's duck obsession is still going strong! This girl really loves ducks. Haha! We started the party by swimming in the pool and eating cookies. Angela from Oh Sugar Events made the cookies and they turned out so perfect. Delicious and CUTE!!
I asked Jocelyn if she wanted to eat duck for her birthday dinner to stick with the bird theme and obviously she said no. So we had Raising Canes instead! Haha. Kai was completely disgusted that we would even eat a chicken. He loves all animals and I think it just dawned on him where meat comes from!! So funny.
After dinner we had cake and swam and swam some more. It was perfect.
J is turning 12 this month and I can't believe it! We were talking about all the fun parties she has had and I asked her what her favorite party has been so far. Her favorite was her Very Merry Un-Birthday Tea Party! So, I thought I would share the party details with you all. It really was so fun! J and her friends made hats and charm bracelets then followed the white rabbit to the tea party. They drank tea and ate treats until they were all completely sugar crazy.
The paper supplies are from my forever favorite Loralee Lewis. Cake, cupcakes, cake pops, macaron's, heart sandwiches, and rabbit cookies were made by The Sugar Story (me). The amazing sugar cookies were made by Angela from Oh Sugar Events.
This was such a fun idea that every little girl would LOVE!
While I was looking through some old pictures I found these of Kyler's eighth birthday party. Even though this party was a couple years ago, it is one of my favorites ever! My Uncle McKell gave the kids the cutest magic show. The kids LOVED every second, and so did the rest of us. Their faces made the whole party and my sister did an incredible job of capturing the magic.

My baby boy is 10! 10!! Fastest 10 years of my life. This picture ^^ I am just in love. He is so proud that its his birthday. Haha
Kyler decided on a lion party and I am so glad he did. It was SO fun. Kai's favorite animal is a lion so it was actually amazing it took so long for him to want a lion party. The whole day he would look at me randomly and tell me that it was the best day ever. It is worth all the effort to get those words and hugs all day because all his birthday wishes came true.
Lets talk about all of the cute decor!! The amazing cookies were made by Oh Sugar Events. Angela does a great job and I have ordered from her for so many of my parties. Always amazing, on time and delicious. The balloons, plates, candles, etc are all from Oh Happy Day. They are my favorite party supply store. They have everything. How amazing are the black and white lion prints! I ordered them on Etsy and printed them at Shutterfly. They made the perfect backdrop for the party. The cake and lion paw print cupcakes were made by me. This is my favorite part to any party. I love decorating cakes. Kyler wanted an actual lion, and I tried, but it just wasn't happening. Maybe someday...
Do you see Kylers lion necklace?!? This adorable necklace is from Little Lux. These necklaces are so so cute and fun for kids! I love it for when we are out and about and they can take the necklace off and it is the perfect toy. I had so much fun trying to find all things lion and in my search found these headbands and paws. I love party decor that can be used after the party. You can find them and so many other animals at Opposite of Far.
The first thing we did was go to the Lion Habitat Ranch. Visit their website for more information and learn about how they support and protect lions. Check it out HERE. Kyler was in lion HEAVEN! We had an incredible time watching, feeding and learning all about lions. This place was so cool. Throughout the whole time we were there Kyler would somehow get the lions to look at him. I would LOVE to know what they were both thinking. The lions loved Kai.
After the lions we played a game. This game is all over pinterest. I put a shower cap on the kids and put shaving cream on top. Then the kids tried to get as many cheetos on their partners "mane" as possible. The one with the biggest "mane" wins!
To finish off the party we all cooled off at the "watering hole". My king of the jungle was one happy boy!
For the past four years while visiting my parents in Star Valley the kids have done a lemonade stand. They have so much fun doing this. Last year my Mom and I made the stand out of crates from a swing set she ordered. We are so proud! Haha It has been a huge hit and the kids think they are a legit company now.
Watching them sell lemonade is hilarious. They have very different ways to sell. Kyler tries to eat and drink everything and occasionally yells at the top of his lungs, "LEMONADE"! Jocelyn is singing, dancing and juggling to get customers, a true strawberry lemonade queen.

Its amazing how many life lessons you can learn from a simple lemonade stand. I hope we have many more years of selling lemonade!
You may recognize this picture from my homepage. I thought I would share some more fun and information from the party! So, if you are in need of a easy, fun and completely adorable party idea this is it! This confetti party was so fun! The highlight of the party was popping the ginormous balloon full of confetti. They thought this was terrifying, but hilarious. The anticipation of the pop was so funny to watch.
The cake is a rainbow chip cake because who doesn't love rainbow chip! I baked them in three 6 inch pans. After they had cooled I cut a circle out of the middle of each layer. Then I stacked the cakes and poured m&ms in the middle. To finish just ice with buttercream, and put the balloon cake toppers on the cake. Owen loved his cake! This is a crowd pleaser. Happiest of birthdays to my Jocelyn!! We had so much fun celebrating her birth. She wanted a duck theme and she wanted to go roller skating. If you know her at all this totally makes sense, but I was kinda wondering how I was going to do this! Then I saw these amazing free printables on Oh Happy Day. This website has amazing party ideas and the best party supplies! These images were so perfect and I added a duck to complete Jocelyn's birthday wishes!
We started off the day at Crystal Palace Skating Center. Roller skating and pizza. The girls had the best time. Poor Jocelyn broke her finger playing a game at school in P.E. a couple days before her party. She was pretty bummed, but it didn't stop her from having fun. How cute are these girls! Jocelyn seriously has the best of friends.
After skating and pizza we headed over to our house. The girls made the cutest charm necklaces. They are almost identical to the necklaces I rocked in the 80s. The rest of the party was spent swimming and stuffing their faces with treats. The donuts are from Pink Box Donuts, cake made by me, suckers, wax lips and egg candy from Candy Warehouse, and my signature cookie....the meringue. I LOVE them because I can shape them any way I need to fit my party. These egg shaped ones are probably my favorite to date. Check out the recipe at the end of the blog post.
Every summer we go see my family in Star Valley, Wyoming. Its one of our favorite places in the world. We decided to have Kai's ninth birthday party while we were there. What better place to have a buckaroo rodeo party than in Wyoming! The inspiration for the party came from the amazing paper products by Loralee Lewis.
This gorgeous lady right here is the talented photographer that took these pictures, she also happens to be my sister. I am so lucky to have her in my life and not only for taking amazing photos. Check out her work here.
The first event at the RODEO was the Saddle Bronc Riding at Papa's farm. My Dad is a great sport. He led all the kids around and they all lasted eight seconds.
Every cowboy should have holes in his pants and dirt on his boots.
The cows at my Dad's farm were going crazy while we were riding horses. They were showing us how cool they were by bucking, running and snorting at us. They got bored after about ten minutes though. It was a true RODEO for awhile.
I am still so obsessed with this horse cake stand and isn't this cake topper the cutest? It is from BetterOffWed. It was originally gold and I used it for my daughters birthday party. I just spray painted it red to match Kyler's party. The lasso on the other hand was not being cute. It kept breaking on me. Haha. Kyler still LOVED the cake and thats all that matters.
After riding horses we all went back to Nana and Papa's to finish out the RODEO.
Barrel Racing was a huge hit! I purchased these blowup horses on Amazon. The barrels are logs from my dads wood shed. Watching the kids do this was hilarious. It was my favorite part of the party. They looked like real barrel racers! YEE HAW!
Papa taught us all how to lasso so we would be ready for Steer Roping. It is a lot harder than it looks!
Kyler got a BB Gun for his birthday. I love all the cute concentration faces from the kids. Target practice was Kai's favorite part of the Buckaroo Rodeo.
He loved adding a few more horses to his collection.
